Policies and Privileges for Borrowed Materials

Knox faculty, staff and students may be blocked from borrowing materials at Knox for failure to return items promptly. In most cases borrowing privileges can be reinstated very quickly by contacting the library Circulation department

Patrons may be blocked from requesting materials at individual I-Share libraries if they have incurred any one of a number of blocks based on failure to pay fines or return materials on time. Patrons will always receive notices of loan problem prior to any action, and patrons are encouraged to work directly with the library who owns the items in question to resolve the issues. Knox faculty, staff and students should contact the library Circulation department if they need help in resolving borrowing issues with other I-Share libraries.

Use Our Book Drop When the Library is Closed

Seymour Library book drop

Book drop near the back entrance to Seymour Library.

All materials, including any items borrowing through I-Share, should be returned to the Circulation desk where the item was originally checked out.

If the library is closed, materials may be deposited in the book drop behind Seymour Library, or through the front door of the Science & Math Center Library. Materials should not be placed in the book drop during hours the library is open.

Reserves, because of their time-sensitive nature, should be returned in person to the Circulation desk of the respective library, unless the library is closed.
