Open Educational Resources: Adopt, Adapt, and Create OER

Information for faculty on what is an OER, how it is accessible, and how it can be used and adopted for class.

How to Adopt OER

Adopt: How do we want faculty to adopt? Can we continue to add adopted OER to the library catalog? do we want to do this? Can we convince faculty to regularly share their OER selections so we can add these to the catalog. May take time to catch on.

How to Create OER

How to Adapt OER

Adapt: Many of the Creative Commons licenses allow users to remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format.  This allows educators a great deal of freedom.  Consult creativecommons.org to learn about CC licenses and to understand the freedoms and limitations of each license.
