Policies and procedures for using Alma for Fulfillment activities.

Adding Patron Notes

Click on the Notes tab of a patron record to view, edit, delete notes. Click the "Add Note" link to a patron note. Fill in the note fields:

  1. If it appears, leave the "Add as external" checkbox unchecked. 
  2. Enter text in the Note field.
  3. Choose a note type. The types serve no purpose in Alma, but choose a type anyway that makes sense for the note you are entering.
  4. Check the "User viewable" box if you want this note to appear to the patron when they are logged into their Knox Primo account (it shows up on the Blocks & Messages page in the My Account tab). 
  5. Check the "Pop up note" box if you want the note to appear in the user record when it is displayed in the Manage Patron Services page--that is, when a patron goes to check something out and the circ worker brings up the patron record.

All notes appear in the patron services page in the notes section:

To edit or delete a note, search for the patron in the Alma search bar, then click on the patron's name to bring up the patron record. 

Click on the Notes tab. 

Click on the row actions button to the right of the note you wish to edit or delete and select edit or delete.
