Policies and procedures for using Alma for Fulfillment activities.

Routing Items to Cataloging Review

Items that need to be reviewed by a cataloger should be place in the "Cataloging Review" department. This will let library staff know where the items are located and will also display that new location in Knox Primo. 

Staff should route items to "Cataloging Review" before placing them on the Cataloging Review cart located outside Tech Services.

To route items to "Cataloging Review":

Note: If the item is not found, or if the item has no barcode, put it on the Cataloging Review cart with a note about no barcode or barcode not found in Alma.

1. Do a physical items search and scan in the barcode:

2. Click the more actions button (ellipses) to the right of the item. Select Work Order. 

3.  Choose the process type "Cataloging Review." 

4. The Place Item in Process screen appears. Make sure the Process Type is "Cataloging Review." The Do not pick from shelf button should be checked. The Managing department should be "Cataloging Review." 

Add any helpful information about the problem in the Note field.

5. Click the SUBMIT button. The physical items page refreshes. Check to see that the item is at Cataloging Review and the Process type is also Cataloging Review:
